The member list
How the list is organised by voice parts, what details are shown for each member and what's behind the ⋮ menu.
Web + app
The member list is your choir's central overview: who's in, who sings which voice, who has admin rights. It sits on the choir page and is visible to everyone in the choir — only the management functions behind it are reserved for the choir leadership and the admins.
How the list is organised
cori doesn't sort members alphabetically but by voice part. Which groups there are depends on the voices your choir has set up under Choir settings›Choir voices:
- Choir leadership — separately and right at the top, regardless of their voice pitch
- Your choir's voices — in the order set there, for example Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass, or just Tenor and Bass in a male-voice choir
- No Voice Pitch — everyone who hasn't entered a voice yet
- Other voices — everyone whose voice doesn't (any longer) exist in your choir, because they haven't been given a new one after a change to the voices, for instance
cori hides empty groups. So if nobody in the choir is without a voice pitch, the “No Voice Pitch” group doesn't appear at all. Whether divisi parts such as Soprano 1 and Soprano 2 get a group of their own is decided by the Show divisi parts separately in lists toggle. With it off, they sit together under “Soprano”, sorted by divisi part in the app. With it on, there's a “Soprano 1” group and a “Soprano 2” group, plus “Soprano (no divisi part)” for everyone who only picked “Soprano”.
In the app, pull the list down to reload the members from the server. Handy when someone has just joined via the invitation link.
What's shown for each member
Every entry shows exactly four things:
- Profile picture — or a placeholder if none has been added
- Name from the profile. Your own entry is called “You”; anyone who hasn't added a name appears as “Anonymous”.
- Voice pitch, including the voice number (“Soprano 1”, for example). Without an entry it says “No Voice Pitch”. For the choir leadership, the app shows “Choir Leadership” instead.
- Markers on the right: a small person icon for members with admin rights, and the “Trial” marker for everyone who's newly on board. Tap or hover over it and cori tells you the date up to which nothing is charged for that person.
If it's someone's birthday today, a small cake icon appears on their profile picture. That requires the person to have added a date of birth to their profile.
The list doesn't show email addresses, phone numbers or postal addresses — not even to the choir leadership. cori doesn't have an expandable member profile: the entry in the list is everything that's visible about a person. And all members see the same details.
The ⋮ menu
Next to every entry there's a ⋮ icon — but only if you're the choir leadership or an admin. Members don't see it and can't change anything from the list.
The menu contains:
- Change Voice — assigns the voice pitch including the voice number
- Add admin rights / Remove admin rights
- Appoint as New Lead — transfers the leadership; you become an admin in the process
- Remove from Choir — removes the person immediately
Unlike deleting the choir, there's no confirmation prompt here. A slip removes the member from the choir and from all group chats straight away. The only way to get them back is a new invitation link.
The choir leadership's entry doesn't have the Appoint as New Lead item — they already are. In the web app, Add admin rights is missing there as well.
The same list inside an appointment
If you open an appointment, you see the same member list, but in attendance mode: each voice part then shows an acceptance count such as “7/12” with a coloured progress bar, and a tick or a cross on each profile picture marks the response. If someone added a comment or a late arrival to their response, you can tap the icon and read it. In this view the ⋮ menu contains only the two entries for accepting and declining instead of the management functions — that's how you enter responses that reached you by word of mouth.
What's next?
- Assigning voice pitches: Changing a member's voice pitch
- Who can do what: Roles and permissions in the choir
- Bring new people in: Inviting members to your choir
- Remove someone: Removing a member from the choir
- Evaluating responses: The attendance overview
